Burt “Burt” Saltzman, the longtime chairman and leader of Dave’s Markets, died Jan. 13, 2026, at 88. Local nonprofits and community members credited him with years of support for hunger relief and other civic efforts, including the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, which recently named a space in his honor.

The previous two-show ticket sales record at the downtown Cleveland venue was set in 2015 by Kevin Hart. Bargatze’s achievement comes just months after comedian Shane Gillis set the single-night comedy attendance record at Rocket Arena in April 2025, with over 19,000 tickets sold.

Built originally in 1857 and widened in 1886 and again in 1928, the Main Street bridge has long been a defining historic landmark in Chagrin Falls. After years of wear and inspection findings indicating deterioration such as voids in mortar joints, exposed reinforcing, and concrete deck cracks, the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works initiated a major rehabilitation project in early 2024.
