"Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge." — Simon Sinek

Meet Bonnie Swirsky, former Interim President of Cleveland 13 News and current Advisory Board Member, whose leadership throughout 2025 helped guide the network through one of its most transformative chapters.

When founder Matt Greminger stepped away to focus on personal matters, Bonnie stepped into the interim role with a steady hand and a clear vision. Over the course of several months in 2025, she championed growth initiatives that strengthened Cleveland 13’s community connection, including the launch of the highly successful Local Spotlight Corner Series, which amplified stories of resilience, innovation, and local impact. During her time as President, Cleveland 13 News climbed to #3 in the 2025 “Best of Cleveland” rankings, surpassing several major mainstream outlets; a milestone that highlighted the trust and credibility she helped foster.

Bonnie’s background in nonprofit leadership, civic engagement, and community development equipped her to bring a unique perspective to media management. Her ability to navigate complex challenges with integrity and authenticity ensured that the newsroom’s values (truth, balance, and community-first storytelling) remained at the forefront.

Now, as a member of the Cleveland 13 Advisory Board, Bonnie continues to play a crucial role in shaping the network’s future. Her experience during a pivotal year for the network, combined with her strategic insight, makes her a vital voice in supporting Matt Greminger’s renewed vision and guiding the newsroom through the evolving media landscape.

Outside of Cleveland 13, Bonnie remains deeply involved in Northeast Ohio’s nonprofit sector, serving on boards such as the Workmen's Circle Educational Center of Ohio, and advocating for initiatives that uplift diverse voices. Her legacy as interim President, and her ongoing contributions, underscore her unwavering dedication to building a newsroom that belongs to the community it serves.
