Stipe Miocic is a Cleveland-born former professional mixed martial artist, widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights in UFC history. Born on August 19, 1982, in Euclid, Ohio, to Croatian immigrant parents, Miocic's athletic journey began with collegiate wrestling and baseball at Cleveland State University and Trevecca Nazarene University. Despite drawing interest from Major League Baseball teams, he transitioned to mixed martial arts, making his UFC debut in 2011. Over his career, Miocic amassed a record of 20 wins and 5 losses, securing the UFC Heavyweight Championship twice and holding the record for the most title defenses in the division's history. 


Beyond the octagon, Miocic has served as a firefighter and paramedic in Ohio, balancing his commitment to public service with his fighting career. He became a full-time firefighter in 2022, emphasizing the importance of helping others in his community.
