OBLAK

Anne Oblak (nee Hren), age 101, died in her sleep on January 18 at the Park Creek Center in Parma Heights, where she received loving care for the final years and days of her life.

Anne, who later lived in University Heights and Mentor, was preceded in passing by her late husband, Frank, a World War II veteran of the European Theater, who she married in 1948. In her earlier years she and Frank enjoyed extensive family vacations in the U.S. She became the sole caregiver to Frank, who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease, and they settled in Mentor. A devout Catholic, Anne later traveled to the Holy Land.

She was devoted to her children: Judith (Oblak) Brysh, Fulshear, Texas; the late Michael Oblak, North Royalton, who passed away 2018, and Carol (Oblak) Eckberg, Bloomington, IN. Anne was the beloved mother-in-law to Cindy (Palaibis) Oblak, North Royalton; John Eckberg, Bloomington, IN, and Stanley Brysh, Fulshear, Texas; Grandmother to Shannon Oblak and Melissa (Oblak) Watson, Matthew Eckberg and Rachel (Eckberg) Castella, Erin (Brysh) Janusis, and Jonathan and Patrick Brysh. She was Great-Grandmother to Lilly Janusis, Julia and Chase Watson, and Sebastian Castella and Alden Eckberg.

Her kindness, patience and strength are a loving legacy for generations to come. Memorial services to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions should be directed to Caring Hospice Services of Ohio, 4700 Rockside Road, Independence, OH 44131
