CLEVELAND, OHIO — Cleveland's entrepreneurial landscape took a visible step forward last week as Futureland hosted its third annual Media Day on Oct. 15. The gathering was not just about press releases or networking; it served as a strategic kickoff for the organization's broader mission to merge the city's tech, art and business sectors. Organizers used the event to build momentum for the upcoming Futureland Takeover, a large-scale conference designed to connect local creators with established industry leaders. It is a transition from simple conversation to actual economic empowerment. Futureland has focused its efforts on bridging the gap between emerging professionals and the resources they need to scale their ideas into sustainable businesses. The scale of these efforts is reflected in the organization's growth over the last few years. According to Futureland data, its initiatives have engaged more than 8,000 attendees and featured roughly 240 speakers. The group also reports that it has supported more than 120 minority- and women-owned business vendors while raising and deploying more than $2 million in funds through various programming tracks. The next major milestone for the group is the Futureland Takeover, which is currently scheduled for Nov. 21, 2026, at the Warren E. Anderson Midtown Collaboration Center. This facility, located in the heart of Cleveland's Midtown neighborhood, will host a day of workshops and discussions centered on four key pillars: Create, Build, Discover and Advance. Admission for the event is free, aiming to keep barriers to entry low for students and early-stage entrepreneurs. While the organization focuses heavily on technology and career development, there is a distinct emphasis on the creative arts. By bringing these different groups together under one roof, the organizers hope to foster partnerships that might not happen in more traditional, siloed corporate environments. It is an approach that treats the city's "creative class" and its "tech sector" as two parts of the same engine. The November event is expected to feature a heavy rotation of networking opportunities and creative experiences that highlight the talent already living and working in Northeast Ohio. For those looking to participate, registration details and a full schedule of speakers are available at the organization's website, www.futurelandcle.com. -------------------- At Cleveland 13 News, we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date, and reliable reporting.
