SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point is preparing for its annual fall transformation as its popular HalloWeekends event returns with daytime family fun and nighttime frights on select dates from Sept. 17 through Nov. 1, 2026. The seasonal event offers two distinct experiences. By day, families can enjoy a variety of kid-friendly activities, which are included with regular park admission. The daytime lineup encourages children to wear costumes and features attractions such as a Trick-or-Treat Trail with interactive goodie stops, The Magical House on Boo Hill fun house, and non-spooky corn and hay mazes. Younger guests can also enjoy hands-on fun at the Creation Station craft area or take a ride on miniature harvest tractors. Across the park, a special menu of seasonal food and drinks will be available. Savory options include the Zombie Burger, Smoked Gargoyle Wings and a Triple Pepperoni Detroit-Style Pizza. For dessert, guests can find Pumpkin Whoopie Pies and S'mores Parfaits. Themed beverages are also a highlight, with alcoholic cocktails and nonalcoholic Blood Bag mocktails such as the Purple People Eater served in souvenir bags. As evening falls, the park shifts to a more intense experience. General admission includes access to several outdoor scare zones, such as Crystal Rock Massacre and Tombstone Terror-tory, where costumed characters roam freely. Guests can also enjoy live stage shows such as Skeleton Crew and Wake the Dead, as well as night rides on roller coasters, some of which feature Halloween-themed overlays. Access to the main haunted houses requires a separate Haunted Attractions Pass, which starts at approximately $15 per night. The pass grants entry to six mazes, including the notoriously gory Slaughter House, the classic Haunting of Eerie Estate and CornStalkers 2.0. New for 2026 is Diablo: The Infernal Path, a headlining haunted house created in collaboration with Blizzard's Diablo video game franchise. Located near the Steel Vengeance roller coaster, the maze immerses guests in a gothic world of cursed cathedrals and hellscapes, featuring encounters with iconic characters such as Lilith and The Butcher. Another premium experience, The Conjuring: Beyond Fear, is not included with the standard Haunted Attractions Pass and requires its own ticket, starting at around $25. The attraction, based on New Line Cinema's film universe, remains largely unchanged from the previous year. Park officials note that on peak Friday and Saturday nights, wait times for popular haunted houses can exceed two hours. For guests looking to experience multiple mazes, a Haunt Express Pass is available as an add-on to bypass the regular standby lines. HalloWeekends will operate on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to midnight for frights only. The park will be open with both daytime and nighttime offerings on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to midnight and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. -------------------- At Cleveland 13 News, we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date, and reliable reporting.
