AKRON, OHIO — The Akron Art Museum is reimagining a traditional spring pastime for the 18-and-over crowd with its upcoming event, Sip & Search: The Great Adult Egg Hunt. Scheduled for Saturday, March 28, the hunt takes place between 10 a.m. and noon at the museum’s downtown location on South High Street. According to the museum’s public release, participants will search through the Bud and Susie Rogers Garden and the lobby for hidden plastic eggs. While many are filled with sweets and chocolate, others contain prize tickets that can be redeemed for bottles of wine or admission to Circa Pop, the museum’s upcoming ’80s-themed dance party. The most coveted item is a single golden egg hidden somewhere on the property. Finding it earns the winner a signed and numbered print by Mark Mothersbaugh, the Devo co-founder and Akron native whose work has been a frequent staple of the local art scene. The institution, known for its distinctive architecture designed by the Viennese firm Coop Himmelb(l)au, houses more than 7,000 works of art dating back to 1850. This event allows the community to interact with the facility’s modern spaces in a less formal setting. Admission covers more than just the hunt; it includes a choice of a mimosa, beer, or mocktail, along with a pastry and coffee. Museum officials are encouraging attendees to lean into the festive atmosphere by wearing spring attire, fascinators, or elegant hats. Tickets for the morning are priced at $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Because of the limited capacity within the garden and lobby, staff expect the event to sell out before the March date. All attendees must be at least 18 years old to participate. Registration and further details are available on the Akron Art Museum website or by calling the box office at 330-376-9186. -------------------- At Cleveland 13 News, we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date, and reliable reporting.
