Tri CLE Rocks the Podium in USA TODAY's 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards for Best Sprint Triathlon

CLEVELAND - Cleveland's own Tri CLE Rock Roll Run sprint triathlon has surged to the forefront of national recognition, securing the fourth position in the prestigious 2024 USA TODAY 10 Best Readers' Choice for the Best Sprint Triathlon. This achievement not only highlights the event's growing prominence but also cements its place among the top triathlon competitions across the United States.

Tri CLE, amidst fierce competition, proudly stood out in a field of 20 nominated races, marking a significant milestone in its relatively short history. "Maybe 4 is our lucky number because this is our fourth year of Tri CLE! So while we didn't come in as No. 1 as the best Sprint Triathlon, we should all be excited to come in at number one against these other races!" expressed the organizers, reflecting on the event's remarkable journey and its latest accolade.

The top ten winners of this category saw the Chicago Triathlon taking the lead, followed by Smith Point Triathlon, Ugly Dog Gravel Triathlon, and then Tri CLE, which outshone other notable events such as St. Anthony's Triathlon and Clash Daytona. This ranking not only brings pride to the Northeast Ohio community but also attracts attention to the diverse and vibrant sporting landscape within the region.

Tri CLE is more than just a race; it's an annual celebration of athleticism, community spirit, and the breathtaking landscapes that Cleveland has to offer. Mark Brandt, the event's founder, has been instrumental in turning his passion for triathlons into a comprehensive experience that emphasizes not only the competitive aspect but also focuses on safety, cleanliness, and inclusivity. "Our goal has always been to create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved," said Brandt, as he recounted the meticulous planning and coordination required to bring this event to life.

From securing the necessary permits to assembling dedicated safety teams and coordinating cleaning crews, every step is taken to ensure participants of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the event in a secure and welcoming environment.

As Tri CLE continues to evolve and grow, it remains a testament to the enduring spirit and dedication of the Cleveland community. This recognition from USA TODAY's 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards is not just a win for Tri CLE but a win for the city of Cleveland, shining a spotlight on its capacity to host events of national significance and its commitment to promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
