PARMA, OH — This morning, I ventured to Parma to visit Yellow Brick Studio, a yoga and wellness sanctuary nestled at 5883 Broadview Road. Founded by the spirited Brittany Quintana, affectionately known as “B,” this studio offers more than just yoga—it provides a nurturing space for self-discovery and community connection.
Upon entering, I was warmly welcomed by B and her team of passionate instructors. Our session began with the “tree pose,” where I focused on finding my balance by placing one foot on the opposite leg and gently swaying side to side. This movement encouraged a sense of flow and mental clarity. We progressed to the “dancer” pose, a graceful posture that challenged my stability and revealed a newfound sense of equilibrium.
B emphasized that Yellow Brick Studio is a place free from judgment. “We really like to talk about how we don’t perform here, so it doesn’t have to look a certain way,” she shared. “We have something for everybody.” This inclusive philosophy ensures that both beginners and seasoned yogis feel at home.
The studio's offerings extend beyond traditional yoga. Instructor Megan introduced me to the practice of sound baths, using a Native American drum flute to create hauntingly beautiful melodies that resonated deeply, promoting relaxation and inner peace. These sound baths are available in monthly classes and are also integrated into weekly sessions that combine yoga and sound healing.
Yellow Brick Studio's diverse class schedule includes:
Chakra Flow: Exploring the body's energy centers through movement.
Detox Power Flow: A heated, vigorous session designed to release tension.
Feel Good Yin: A calming, restorative practice using props for support.
Flow of Sound: A blend of vinyasa yoga followed by a soothing sound bath.
Grand Rising: A gentle morning practice to energize the body and mind.
Meditation Hour: Weekly sessions exploring various meditation techniques.
Slow Flow: A grounding class focusing on breath and mindful movement.
Warm Slow Flow: A heated morning session to awaken the body gently.
5@5 Challenge: A five-day early morning series promoting discipline and routine.
In addition to classes, the studio offers educational programs, including 200 and 300-hour yoga teacher training certified by the Yoga Alliance. Workshops such as "Embodied Astrology," "Cycle Syncing Women's Circle," and "Harmony Hands" provide opportunities for deeper exploration of wellness practices.
Yellow Brick Studio operates seven days a week, with classes starting as early as 5 a.m. and as late as 9 p.m., accommodating various schedules. Whether you're a yoga enthusiast or a curious newcomer, this studio offers a welcoming environment to explore and grow.
