Published: Jun 16, 2026 - 8:42 p.m.

CLEVELAND, OHIO — The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "The Great Gatsby" is set to bring the glamour and drama of the Roaring Twenties to Cleveland for a limited engagement at the Connor Palace at Playhouse Square from June 9-28, 2026. The production will be presented as part of the KeyBank Broadway Series. Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's iconic novel, the musical follows the mysterious and eccentric millionaire Jay Gatsby in his relentless pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, the lost love of his youth. The story's complex characters and themes of extravagance and longing are brought to the stage through an electrifying jazz- and pop-infused score. The production has received widespread acclaim since its debut. It won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Costume Design, the 2024 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite New Musical, and nine BroadwayWorld Theater Fan's Choice awards, including Best Musical. The estate of F. Scott Fitzgerald endorsed the adaptation, stating, "This production is a big, bold, Broadway version of The Great Gatsby. It's thrilling to see these indelible characters and iconic moments from the novel come to life on stage." The show features music and lyrics by Tony Award nominees Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen, with a book by Jonathan Larson Grant winner Kait Kerrigan. The production is staged by award-winning director Marc Bruni and choreographer Dominique Kelley. "The Great Gatsby" began its Broadway run in April 2024, where it has continued to break box office records. Its success followed a record-breaking world premiere at the Paper Mill Playhouse, where it became the highest-grossing show in the organization's history. The North American tour is produced by Chunsoo Shin, OD Company and NETworks Presentations. Twenty-four performances are scheduled for the Cleveland run. Showtimes are Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 1:00 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Nov. 19 and can be purchased at playhousesquare.org or by calling 216-241-6000.
