Browns Legends Greet Fans at Hartville MarketPlace

HARTVILLE, OH - The Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market turned into a hub of excitement as Cleveland Browns legends, Anthony Griggs and Gerald McNeil, graced the All Star Sports Gallery for an autograph signing session. The event showcased not just the marketplace's diverse offerings but also its community spirit.

The Hartville MarketPlace, known for its vast array of goods ranging from local food, custom jewelry, memorabilia and even swords, has been a staple in the community since its founding in 1939. Its commitment to quality products and customer service has made it a treasure trove for shoppers and collectors alike. Among the marketplace's highlights is the All Star Sports Gallery, a haven for sports enthusiasts and memorabilia collectors.

Tom Brode, owner of the All Star Sports Gallery, shared with Cleveland 13 News the joy of hosting autograph signings with beloved sports figures. Having opened in Hartville about a year ago, Brode's business has been organizing autograph events for over two decades, bringing sports fun to the community and allowing fans to meet their heroes.

Anthony Griggs, one of the day's stars, is not only known for his time as a linebacker with the Cleveland Browns but also as an author. Fans had the opportunity to get copies of his book, "No Excuses," signed during the event. Griggs' storied career includes being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1982 after playing college football at Ohio State and Villanova.

Joining Griggs was Gerald "the Ice Cube" McNeil, famed for his speed and agility as a wide receiver and return specialist. McNeil's career highlights include memorable touchdowns and being one of the lightest players in the NFL, earning him his nickname for being elusive on the field.

The event underscored the Hartville MarketPlace's role in bringing the community together, celebrating local businesses, and fostering a love for sports among fans of all ages.
