Cosm Unveils Plans for Immersive Entertainment Venue in Downtown Cleveland's Gateway District

CLEVELAND, OH — A groundbreaking immersive technology venue is set to debut in downtown Cleveland by early 2027, as Cosm, a Los Angeles-based tech and entertainment company, confirmed it will construct its fifth U.S. location at the intersection of East 4th Street, Prospect Avenue and Huron Road. This site, dubbed the Rock Block, lies adjacent to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and is part of a joint effort with Bedrock and Rock Entertainment Group.

“We’re thrilled about coming to Cleveland,” said Cosm CEO and President Jeb Terry Jr. “It’s the perfect complement to what we have at Rocket Arena and what the Guardians have going at Progressive Field.” The company, which currently operates venues in Los Angeles and Dallas with new sites under development in Atlanta and Detroit, views Cleveland as a strategic next step due to its passionate fan base and vibrant downtown atmosphere.

Cosm Cleveland will span approximately 50,000 square feet, feature a massive 87-foot diameter LED dome, and house a screen wider than an NBA court powered by over 12K-resolution technology. The venue’s “shared reality” experience promises fans front-row sensations across live sports, music, cinema, and art, all delivered in a multi-sensory environment with up to 1,500 combined seated and standing room attendees.

“We can put fans right there — the first row of the pitch, front row of a basketball game,” Terry said. “The best seat in the house.”

The venue will anchor the Rock Block, a 3.2-acre development on land Bedrock purchased in 2023 for $26.5 million, formerly earmarked for the shelved nuCLEus tower. As the first announced component of the site’s broader mixed-use vision, the Cosm project is expected to include elevated food and beverage offerings and stimulate adjacent hospitality and retail development. Future site phases could introduce vertical expansion, including hotels, office space, and more.

Cosm’s local installation is expected to generate annual attendance of around 500,000 visitors, according to programming estimates. Events will include everything from pro and college sports to WWE, immersive films, art shows, and concerts, with weekend schedules offering up to seven different presentations in a single day.

While ticket pricing will vary, entry is expected to start between $10 and $25, with special events like the Super Bowl commanding higher premiums. “The experience will be approachable, allowing fans to attend multiple times a year,” Terry added.

Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb called the project “a major milestone for our downtown Gateway District,” adding that the venue will enhance the city’s appeal as a destination for sports and entertainment. “This incredible venue will enhance our city’s reputation as a hub for sports and entertainment, drawing visitors from near and far to experience a whole new level of immersive entertainment,” Bibb said.

Notably, the venue nearly found a home in suburban Brook Park, where the Haslam Sports Group had included the Cosm logo in renderings of a planned entertainment district around its proposed enclosed stadium. However, Cosm denied authorizing the use of its branding and ultimately selected downtown after a $250 million investment from Dan Gilbert and David Blitzer, along with uncertainties surrounding Brook Park’s stadium financing.

“Cosm is really about creating another dimension of experience around the Gateway District,” said Rock Entertainment Group CEO Nic Barlage. “It will blow your mind relative to the way fans can engage with that platform.”
