Fort Wayne Offers a Family-Friendly Getaway Packed with Educational Fun and Adventure

FORT WAYNE, Indiana — Looking for a family adventure but don’t want to drive forever to get there? Well, it is time to fill up your tank and take an adventure to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jayda’s adventures recently explored Fort Wayne and it is such a fun place for families to explore. There are so many activities perfect for families.

Once we got into town we checked into the Courtyard by Marriott located in Downtown Fort Wayne. This hotel is beautiful and is close and sometimes even within walking distance to so many perfect family attractions. We loved the view of the TinCaps field from our room which made for perfect firework shows at night. They do offer a small pool which is indoor only and not the normal size of a hotel pool. Clean rooms and perfect location is what you will get with this hotel.

There are so many different places to explore while in Fort Wayne like going to a TinCaps game, exploring Science Central, walking around the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, and so much more but I definitely have my must dos while in town.

First, if you are there on a Saturday morning you have to check the YLNI Farmer Market. It is huge and there are so many local snacks, food and vendors to check out. There are so many good bakeries and if you ask a local they will send you to the best booths in town. Speaking of food, while you are in town there are two spots that I think are a perfect MUST for families. Acme By Full Circle is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner. They are a family BBQ restaurant that was established in 1941 and has something for everyone in your family to eat. Next, is the perfect lunch spot that was opened here in 1914 and this family has stuck to its roots with a simply menu that is perfect for your family budget. Both of these restaurants are places that I would continue to go to when traveling the area.

Let's talk about my must visit attractions while in Fort Wayne. The perfect place to spend the day with your family is at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo. This zoo how unique animal feeds like feeding chickens and stingrays, special rides that allow you to explore the scenic views of the zoo, an outdoor rope course with zipline adventure, plus so many different animals to see. We loved spending the day there and seeing all the different animals. It is definitely the perfect family zoo. Next, take an afternoon to explore the beauty that can be found at the Botanical Conservatory. The gardens are beautiful and the perfect place to learn, explore, and take photos.

The perfect evening in Fort Wayne is spent at Promenade Park where you can take an educational and beautiful relaxing boat tour with Sweet Breeze Canal Boat Tours. This was so much fun and I loved exploring the park afterward. If it raining or the weather isn’t ideal then check out Crazy Pinz because this family fun center has it all from bowling, to go-carts, ropecourses, trampoline interactive video games and more, it is such a fun place to explore.
