Each week, Cleveland 13 brings you a quick recap of the stories that had everyone talking. This is The Click Report with Emmy Award-winning News Reporter Denise Zarrella. Here’s what made headlines this week.
(WCTU) — From a massive storm cluster lighting up Northeast Ohio to an internationally known artist putting his mark on downtown Cleveland, free admission at Cedar Point, a $1.25 million commitment to Ohio families and the return of one of Cleveland’s favorite Labor Day traditions, these are the stories that got people clicking this week.
Northeast Ohio Looks Up as Storms Light Up the Sky
If you looked up over Northeast Ohio Wednesday night, there was a good chance you saw it and plenty of Cleveland 13 viewers grabbed their phones to capture it.
A massive cluster of storms created an impressive scene across the region, and Cleveland 13 viewers sent in plenty of photos and videos documenting what they saw.
It was a dramatic start to the week’s Click Report and another reminder that when something catches Northeast Ohio’s attention, Cleveland 13 viewers are often among the first to capture it.
Eduardo Kobra Brings Massive Rock & Roll Mural to Downtown Cleveland
Downtown Cleveland is getting a major splash of color courtesy of internationally known Brazilian muralist Eduardo Kobra. Kobra has begun work on an approximately 11,000-square-foot mural covering the 55 Public Square Garage at 217 W. St. Clair Avenue. The project is a collaboration involving Graffiti HeArt, Downtown Cleveland Inc. and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Known around the world for his colorful, kaleidoscopic style, Kobra has created more than 3,000 murals across five continents. The Cleveland project has been nearly three years in the making and is designed as a tribute to rock-and-roll history while adding another major public-art destination to downtown.
The project also has some distinctly Cleveland support behind it. Sherwin-Williams and BrandSafway are providing materials and equipment, while the K&D Group provided the garage that serves as Kobra’s enormous canvas.
Graffiti HeArt plans to host a meet-and-greet with the artist on Sept. 11, followed by the mural’s official ribbon-cutting on Sept. 15. Read the full Cleveland 13 story here. See the full story here.
If Your Name Is Fry, Cedar Point Wants to See Your ID
This may finally be the moment people named Fry have been waiting for.
Cedar Point is bringing back Happy Friar’s Fresh-Cut Fries Fest from Sept. 10 through Sept. 13, celebrating a park food tradition that dates back to 1942. And the park is taking the theme seriously.
Guests whose last names are Fry, or variations including Fri, Fries, Fryer, Friar, Fried or Friedman — can receive free single-day admission during the festival by showing a valid government-issued photo ID at a Cedar Point entrance.
Once inside, there will, appropriately, be plenty of fries. The Happy Friar near Gemini will serve creations including Barbacoa Fries with smoked beef, pickled red onions and queso, along with Poutine Fries topped with cheese curds and beef gravy.
Over at Hot Potato near Raptor, guests can find Brisket Burnt End Fries with bourbon glaze and Mike’s Hot Honey Fries with fried cheese curds, jalapeños and cayenne ranch.
The festival coincides with Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends Scream Peek Weekend, giving visitors an early chance to experience four of the park’s indoor haunted mazes.

Awakening Angels Pledges $1.25 Million to Ohio Families
A Cleveland nonprofit is making a major commitment to families welcoming children with Down syndrome. Awakening Angels is pledging $1.25 million through its Life Grant Program, with plans to support 250 families across Ohio. Each selected family will receive a $5,000 grant after welcoming a child with Down syndrome through birth or adoption.
Importantly, those grants aren't restricted to one particular expense. Families can use the money for needs including medical bills, specialized therapy, adaptive equipment, childcare, educational support and travel to specialists.
Awakening Angels was founded in 2012 by Northeast Ohio restaurateur Tony George and his wife, Kristine, in honor of their son Michael, who died of leukemia at age 16.
For Tony George, the mission is deeply personal. His family's experience raising Michael helped shape the organization’s goal of making sure other parents have support and community during what can be an overwhelming period following a diagnosis.

The Cleveland National Air Show Is BACK
Now, from everything happening on the ground to what’s about to happen high above it.
One of Northeast Ohio’s signature Labor Day weekend traditions returns Sept. 5, 6 and 7 as the Cleveland National Air Show takes over Burke Lakefront Airport.
Headlining the 2026 show are the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, joined by a packed lineup that includes the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, an F-22 Raptor demonstration, U.S. Air Force C-17, KC-135 and KC-46 demonstrations, aerobatic performers and more.
Flying is scheduled to take place approximately 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. And Cleveland 13 will be there all three days.
From Saturday through Labor Day, our reporters will be on the lakefront bringing viewers closer to the people and machines that make the Air Show happen — with behind-the-scenes looks at pilots and performers along with the fans, food, fun and unmistakable energy surrounding one of Cleveland’s biggest weekends.
Of course, as good as the coverage is, there’s nothing quite like seeing those aircraft fly over Lake Erie in person. Anyone planning to attend should remember that tickets and on-site parking must be purchased online in advance. There are no ticket sales at the gate.
