Cleveland-Area Golfers Ditch the Weather for High-Tech Indoor Simulator Experience at X-Golf

BROADVIEW HTS, OHIO — Golfers in Northeast Ohio are finding a way to play year-round at X-Golf, an indoor golf simulator facility with multiple locations across the region, including Broadview Heights.
The venue combines high-tech golf simulators, instruction from a PGA professional, food and drinks, and event space designed for casual players, leagues and private gatherings.
Owner Ron Salerno said the Broadview Heights location features seven indoor simulators capable of recreating dozens of well-known golf courses around the world.
“We’ve got seven indoor simulators. You could play 50 of the world’s best courses, like Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, so you don’t have to travel across the globe. You can come right in,” Salerno said.
Players can choose between practicing on a simulated driving range, playing a full course or trying other golf-themed games designed to help improve skills. The facility also offers leagues and professional instruction.
Lessons are conducted using swing analysis technology that records golfers from multiple camera angles. The video feedback allows players to review mechanics and adjust technique in real time.
The facility also provides custom club fittings for golfers who want equipment tailored to their swing. As a certified TaylorMade fitting location, customers can test and customize drivers, irons and other clubs during the process.
Beyond golf instruction and practice, the venue operates as a social destination with a full bar, menu and large screens capable of displaying live sporting events during game days.
“So we’ve got one of our sims cast the game during game time. On our 10 foot by 17 foot sims we could cast any game. It’s right there,” Salerno said.
The space is frequently used for gatherings ranging from corporate outings to celebrations such as bachelor parties and showers. Guests can play golf, watch games and dine in the same space.
Menu offerings include shareable bar-style food, including loaded nachos and a large Bavarian pretzel served with warm cheese and stone-ground mustard. The drink menu features cocktails, tequila and an extensive bourbon selection along with regional craft beer options.
“Probably our biggest seller is our Bavarian pretzel. It is big. It is soft. It’s served with warm cheese and stone-ground mustard,” Salerno said.
X-Golf operates several Northeast Ohio locations, including Broadview Heights, Fairlawn, Solon, Canton and Avon. Customers can reserve simulator time, schedule lessons or book private events through the company’s website.
