CLEVELAND, OH — Dr. Kwaku L. Carlisle Woods, a local physician and educator whose career spans from the battlefields of the U.S. Army to the sidelines of Cleveland's youth football leagues, has been inducted into the Marquis Who's Who biographical registry. The recognition, announced this week, highlights his five-decade tenure in medicine, entrepreneurship and community mentorship. He currently serves as the CEO of the Prometheus Reborn Universal Foundation, an organization he has led for 50 years. Woods' path to the medical field did not follow a traditional timeline. According to the Marquis Who's Who biographical record, he bypassed the standard high school experience by passing the GED and earning a year of college credit through CLEP certification when he was 15. This early academic momentum led him through a series of rigorous programs, including music theory studies at the NYC High School of Performing Arts and a nursing degree from the Saint Louis Municipal School of Nursing. He later earned a Doctor of Medicine degree in primary care from the University of Kentucky and completed additional coursework at Harvard University. Between 2018 and 2020, Woods worked closely with a Cleveland sports icon, serving as the personal development coordinator for Coach Sam Rutigliano's Aiming Higher Program. Rutigliano, the former head coach of the Cleveland Browns, designed the initiative to support personal growth and life skills. Woods' involvement followed years of diverse medical service, including a stint as an HIV outreach coordinator at Johns Hopkins University and a tenure as medical director for FitSpirit Fitness. His military service remains a cornerstone of his professional identity. During his time in the U.S. Army, Woods served as a combat soldier and as an instructor in counterguerrilla warfare. Those experiences transitioned into a lifelong commitment to martial arts, where he has taught students for nearly 50 years. In the local community, Woods is a familiar face within the Cleveland Municipal (MUNY) League. He provides his expertise as a medical and health consultant for both the MUNY League of Football and the Little League football program. These volunteer efforts are part of a broader civic portfolio that includes fundraising for KC Charities 14 Inc. and participating in local neighborhood restoration projects. He is also an active voice in the edutainment sector. Since 2004, he has served as vice president of edutainment at Global Entertainment, where he oversees the production of educational content. He is currently working on the second installment of a book trilogy titled "The Blessings of Slavery" and manages several media platforms, including Global Records and the Order of Liberation and Unity publishing company. Recently, Woods has shifted his focus toward Noetic Science, a field he describes as the scientific study of the human spirit. He is currently teaching a curriculum he calls "The Trivalent Understanding Noetics." According to Prometheus Reborn Universal Foundation documents, Woods asserts that these scientific principles can be used to influence human physiological and mental operations in 133 seconds. He continues to offer these specialized training sessions and personal development seminars through his foundation's headquarters in Ohio. -------------------- At Cleveland 13 News, we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date, and reliable reporting.
