Mayfield Heights Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Drake Apartments

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday, shortly before noon at the Drake Apartment complex in Mayfield Heights.
According to the Mayfield Heights Police Department, officers responded to a report of a robbery at approximately 11:56 a.m. The victim, a 29-year-old woman from Akron, told police she had met a man at a party the night before and agreed to meet him again at the Drake Apartments. Upon arriving at the complex, the man led her to his apartment. He later left and returned with two additional men.
“All three males were armed when they re-entered the apartment and ordered her to transfer money via a mobile cash app,” the department stated in a release issued Wednesday. After the transaction, the suspects fled the scene in a gray Jeep.
Police confirmed that one suspect, a 21-year-old male from Mayfield Heights, is in custody. The names of the remaining suspects have not yet been released.
