Trailer and Tools Stolen in Overnight Break-In at J&J Plumbing Lot

CLEVELAND, OHIO — A break-in at J&J Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric has left the local business, and a kids' soccer program it helps support, reeling after thieves made off with a trailer and tools during an overnight theft.

According to the company, someone broke through the locked gates of their secured parking lot, stole a trailer used for a youth soccer team, and later returned to break into one of their work trucks. The trailer was eventually found abandoned nearby, with signs it had been opened. It’s unclear whether anything was taken from inside the trailer.

The company said the trailer was full of soccer gear meant for a Saturday league the business sponsors and helps run. The theft, they said, doesn't just hurt operations — it takes a toll on families and kids who rely on local programs like this.

Employees also discovered that one of their installation trucks had been forced open and tools were stolen, adding to the financial and emotional blow.

Police are now investigating, and J&J Plumbing is asking anyone who saw suspicious activity such as unfamiliar vehicles, someone moving a trailer late at night, or anything out of the ordinary, to contact law enforcement. They’re also urging neighbors with security cameras to check footage from the night of the incident, which happened before the morning of January 8.

In a gesture to rally community help, the company is offering a free furnace tune-up to anyone whose tip directly helps identify the person or people responsible. Details on how that reward will be handled haven’t been released.

This incident has sparked frustration among employees and community members alike, many of whom view the break-in not just as a theft, but as a blow to the community programs that bring people together.
