CLEVELAND, OHIO — Tim Misny, the personal injury attorney whose "I'll Make Them Pay" slogan has been a staple of Northeast Ohio media for more than four decades, is moving from highway billboards to bookstore shelves. The high-profile lawyer is set to launch his new book, "The Misny Method," with an ambitious two-day tour starting Friday that includes what organizers are calling a "takeover" of one of Cleveland's most historic landmarks. The flagship event begins Friday at noon at the West Side Market, located at the intersection of West 25th Street and Lorain Avenue in Ohio City. Fans attending the market event can participate in a Misny look-alike contest, with prizes ranging from signed copies of the book to custom Andy Warhol-style clocks featuring the attorney's likeness. It is an unusual scene for the century-old market, but one that fits the larger-than-life brand Misny has built since he began practicing law. While the "I'll Make Them Pay" tagline has become a recognizable piece of local pop culture, the book aims to show the man behind the stern expression and pointed finger. Misny grew up in Euclid, the son of working-class parents, and he said his career was built on a childhood promise he made to his grandmother. According to the book's narrative, he vowed to become a lawyer who would stand up for people who did not have the power to stand up for themselves. The launch is not just about book sales: It is also a philanthropic effort. A portion of the proceeds from every copy sold will be donated to the City Mission of Cleveland. The City Mission has served the local community since 1910, providing crisis centers and recovery programs for men, women and children experiencing homelessness at its campus on East 33rd Street. Jim Kukral, the book's co-author and publisher, said the project highlights a side of Misny that many people miss when they are just driving past a billboard on I-90. According to Kukral, Misny is the ultimate Cleveland underdog who came from nothing and built a legacy by helping people on the worst days of their lives. The promotional campaign for the book is already visible across the region, using 30 digital billboards provided by Lamar Advertising. Following the Friday afternoon event at the West Side Market, the tour continues with several stops at Barnes & Noble locations across the suburbs. Large crowds are expected at each venue, given the lawyer's massive social media following and the high volume of preorders reported at misnybook.com. The full schedule for the launch weekend is as follows: Friday, May 8 Noon: West Side Market launch event, 1979 West 25th St., Cleveland 6-8 p.m.: Book signing at Barnes & Noble, 17211 SouthPark Center, Strongsville Saturday, May 9 10 a.m.-noon: Book signing at Barnes & Noble, 288 Main St., Westlake (Crocker Park) 3-5 p.m.: Book signing at Barnes & Noble, 7900 Mentor Ave., Mentor The book is currently available for purchase through Barnes & Noble and the official website.
