Cleveland Institute of Music Students Unite for Middle Eastern Benefit Concert Highlighting Music for Peace

CLEVELAND — Students from the Cleveland Institute of Music will present "Music for Peace," a special benefit concert on May 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Mixon Hall, celebrating Middle Eastern music and culture. Designed to foster peace and unity among global communities, the event also aims to raise $5,000 in support of those impacted by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

"Our mission is to foster peace and unity among communities worldwide while raising money for those affected by the current conflict in the region," according to event organizers. The evening’s program will feature a charming work for violin and piano by Israeli composer Paul Ben-Haim, beautiful vocal melodies by Persian artists Darya Daadvar, Delkash, and Shervin Hajipour, as well as traditional ensemble works by Palestinian composer Simon Shaheen.

Admission to the concert is free, but reservations are required. The Cleveland Institute of Music is located at 11021 East Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44106, with parking available through CIM's Hazel Drive entrance. Accessibility accommodations can be arranged by contacting the CIM Box Office at boxoffice@cim.edu or by calling 216.795.3211.

Supporters are invited to participate in a virtual silent auction featuring items from local vendors, including artwork, jewelry, gift baskets, and restaurant packages. Participants may also choose to donate directly by using the "Donate or Bid" button on the event homepage. All proceeds will be donated to the World Central Kitchen (WCK.org) operating in Gaza, whose mission statement reads, "Using the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond."

The concert will also be available via livestream for those unable to attend in person. More details on reserving tickets, viewing the program, participating in the silent auction, or donating can be found by visiting Music for Peace.
