Decades Set to Reopen After Reaching Agreement With Building Ownership

Published: Jul 1, 2026 - 2:43 p.m.

CLEVELAND, OHIO — After a temporary closure that left many customers wondering about its future, Decades says it is preparing to reopen after reaching an agreement with building ownership. Bryan Dall confirmed to Cleveland 13 News that the downtown Cleveland nightlife venue plans to welcome guests back during the weekend of July 9. "We have reached an agreement with ownership and will be reopening the weekend of July 9," Dall told Cleveland 13 News in an email. The announcement comes just days after a legal notice was posted on the entrance of Decades at 1163 Front Ave. informing the business that the landlord had secured the premises and suspended the tenant's access. The notice, dated June 23, was addressed to The Big Bang Bar Cleveland, LLC, doing business as Decades, and directed to Dall. In the notice, the landlord alleged the business had repeatedly violated the terms of its lease over the past year, citing alleged lease defaults, unauthorized use of outside event promoters, a criminal nuisance citation and a Cleveland Division of Fire incident report. The notice also stated that multiple written notices of default had previously been issued. The allegations contained in the notice have not been independently verified by Cleveland 13 News, and the terms of the agreement between Decades and building ownership have not been publicly disclosed. Before Dall's response, Decades had told customers on social media the closure was the result of an "unexpected building-related issue." Now, the venue says it is focused on reopening and expects to resume operations during the weekend of July 9. Decades opened in March 2025 in the former Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar space in Cleveland's Flats East Bank and has become known for its music-driven nightlife experience celebrating multiple decades. -------------------- At Cleveland 13 News, we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date, and reliable reporting.
