Ballet Excel Ohio Brings Neverland to Life with Peter Pan Performance at Akron Civic Theatre
AKRON, OH — Ballet Excel Ohio is set to captivate audiences with its upcoming production of Peter Pan on March 15 and 16, 2025, at the Akron Civic Theatre. Under the artistic direction of Mia Klinger, this family-friendly production features choreography by Laszlo Berdo and showcases the remarkable talent of Northeast Ohio’s young dancers.

Maddie Epps, a senior at Firestone High School, will star in the title role of Peter Pan. Epps, a scholarship recipient of the organization’s Reach Out And Dance® (R.O.A.D.) program, embodies the spirit of the boy who never grows up. “Being part of this production is a dream come true. Ballet Excel Ohio has given me opportunities I never thought possible,” Epps said.
The performance will bring the magic of Neverland to life with a talented ensemble cast portraying beloved characters, including Wendy, Tinker Bell, and the infamous Captain Hook. Audiences can expect soaring choreography, mesmerizing music, and whimsical costumes that transport them into a world of adventure, friendship, and the timeless battle between good and evil.
Ballet Excel Ohio, founded 49 years ago by Nan Klinger and now led by Mia Klinger, has played a significant role in shaping the dance community in Northeast Ohio. It is the longest-running show at the Akron Civic Theatre and continues to make the arts accessible by offering scholarships and donating thousands of tickets each year. The company’s outreach program, Reach Out And Dance®, led by Lori Klinger for 26 years, introduces dance to local schools and provides young students with the opportunity to further their artistic journey.
The production invites attendees of all ages to experience the enchantment of Peter Pan and encourages audience members to wear costumes of their favorite characters. Tickets are available through the Akron Civic Theatre box office or online.
