Giving the Gift of Joy to Children at Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital

CLEVELAND - This holiday season, consider giving back to those in need by donating to Family and Child Life Services at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland. Your generosity can make a big difference in the lives of children and their families who are dealing with illness and hospitalization.

The Family and Child Life Services team has a wish list of items that are frequently provided to patients and families during their time at the hospital. These items can help make a child's experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Some examples of items on the wish list include books, games, toys, and craft supplies

.

When making a donation, it is important to follow the guidelines set by the hospital to ensure the safety of patients. All items must be brand new and safe (non-toxic), and they should not have been on display or stored in a way that they may have gathered dust, cigarette smoke, or allergens. Additionally, there are some items that the hospital is not allowed to accept, such as bubble bath, military toys, guns/weapons, religious-themed materials, and items with latex.

Donors are not allowed to deliver items directly to patients and families due to privacy concerns. Donations should also not be gift wrapped. The hospital holds an annual donation drop-off day in December to prepare for the winter holiday season, but donations are accepted year-round.

Giving to those in need during the holiday season is a great way to spread cheer and make a positive impact. By donating to Family and Child Life Services at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, you can help bring joy and comfort to children and their families during a difficult time. To learn more or to schedule a donation drop-off, please contact the hospital at 216-286-GIVE or email childlife.donations@UHhospitals.org.
