This Week's Top News in Northeast Ohio; From UFO Talk to Dragon Lanterns and Vintage Flight Fashion

Each week, Cleveland 13 brings you a quick recap of the stories that had everyone talking. This is The Click Report with Emmy Award-winning News Reporter Denise Zarrella. Here’s what made headlines this week.

(WCTU) — From Parma’s paranormal podcaster to Cleveland’s dragon-lit zoo nights, community celebrations, and a throwback to vintage aviation glamour, these are the stories that got people clicking this week.

Paul Seaburn: From Jay Leno to UFOs

Parma native Paul Seaburn has taken a career that started with stand-up comedy and TV writing — including work for Jay Leno on The Tonight Show — and turned it toward the paranormal. His long-running podcast, What in the World, mixes humor with bizarre headlines about UFOs, Bigfoot, and the strange-but-true. Seaburn also writes for Mysterious Universe and recently released a book, What Would You Say to a Naked Space Alien?, offering funny takes on reported extraterrestrial encounters. Asian Lantern Festival Lights Up Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Asian Lantern Festival is back for its eighth year with an all-new dragon theme. More than 1,000 glowing lanterns, including a 100-foot-long animatronic “ice and fire” dragon, are on display through August 24. Guests can choose a walk-through or drive-through experience, with performances, food vendors, and unique themed zones like “Animals of the Nile.” Tickets are discounted online at FutureForWildlife.org/lanterns. See the full story here.

Community Pride at EJ Kovacic Rec Center Celebration

Despite a rainy morning, the second annual EJ Kovacic Rec Center Celebration drew a crowd for music, food, local business showcases, and free resources from nonprofits. The recently renovated center now offers updated fitness facilities, an eSports room, and on-site social support. Groups like Teen Enterprise and The Foundry Rowing introduced residents to new opportunities, while volunteers distributed donated goods to neighbors in need. See the full story here.

Corks on the Concourse to Bring Vintage Fashion to Burke Lakefront

The International Women’s Air & Space Museum is hosting Corks on the Concourse August 22, featuring wine tastings, raffles, and a runway show of historic flight attendant uniforms. Attendees can bid on vintage-inspired outfits and even an authentic Amelia Earhart train bag. The event will raise funds to restore the museum’s prized Katherine Wright Dress. Tickets are available at iwasm.org. See the full story here.
