Heights Music Hop Returns for 13th Year to Unleash a Soundstorm Across Cleveland Heights This Month

CLEVELAND Height, Ohio — FutureHeights will present the 13th annual Heights Music Hop in Cleveland Heights from September 19 to 21, 2025, transforming four commercial districts into live music stages with dozens of free performances across local venues.

“The Heights Music Hop is a great tradition in Cleveland Heights that brings together local artists and local businesses,” said City Council President Tony Cuda, a local musician and Music Hop volunteer.

The festival begins Friday in the Cedar-Fairmount district with performances starting in the afternoon and running into the evening. On Saturday, the event moves to Noble Road Library and the Cedar Lee district with music starting in the morning and continuing into the night. The celebration concludes Sunday in Coventry Village, with family-friendly activities beginning in the morning and live music scheduled from noon until 6 p.m.

FutureHeights Executive Director Lee Chilcote said the organization’s mission is to foster a strong, sustainable Cleveland Heights and University Heights through community and economic development. “Each year, it attracts thousands of people to celebrate the Heights as a home to the arts and to support local businesses,” Chilcote said.

The 2025 Heights Music Hop will feature a wide range of musical styles including blues, jazz, punk, riff rock, and alternative. Twenty-two venues and thirty-six artists have signed on so far. Performances will take place in bars, restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, and outdoor public areas. Some of the scheduled highlights include a kid-friendly concert on Saturday afternoon, street musicians performing in the Cedar-Lee DORA district, and a Saturday night headline performance by Apostle Jones at the Tavern Company on Lee Road.

The event will also include the new “Kids Hop,” a Saturday addition that features concerts and activities geared toward families and children. Music lovers will have the opportunity to walk or bike between venues while exploring local businesses and discovering new bands.

FutureHeights coordinates the festival with support from the City of Cleveland Heights, which contributed $7,500 from its discretionary fund to help fund the 2025 event. Annual partners include local neighborhood improvement districts and independent business sponsors. Complete schedules, maps, and updates will be available through FutureHeights and the festival’s social media channels.

“We look forward to putting on a celebration this community deserves,” Chilcote said.
